How much action can you pack into one weekend? Saturday May 25 is an evening race featuring competition for the King of the Street title and a Gambler’s Bracket run for the $$$. Gates open at 2 pm, time trials at 4 with races at 6. Sunday and Monday (Tony Prockish Memorial Race) feature Top Eliminators (200 mph+++), wild and crazy Pro-Nostalgia cars, Top Sportsman, Mod Et, Super ET, Open Air, Junior Dragsters and Trophy Class. Gates open at 9, time trials at 11, eliminations at 2. Camping space available. Karl has yummy food at the Green Light Grill and Chrystal has a cold one on tap in the High Octane Lounge.

We know that you’re itching to race. Scratch that itch at the first Test & Tune of the season. It will be held on Wednesday May 22. Gates open at 5 p.m. with runs from 6-9. The Green Light Grill will be open for you dining pleasure. VP Racing fuels will be available in sealed 5 gallon pails from a steel cage dispenser near the Tech Station.

SNOW cancels points race!

We regret to announce that the first points race of the season, scheduled for Sunday May 19, has been cancelled due to snow.

Our next scheduled event is a Test & Tune on Wednesday May22nd. Gates open at 5, T&T from 6 t0 9 p.m.

And then the BIG 3-DAY WEEKEND to celebrate Memorial Day. Join us for all three days of racing action.

KOOL Kruz Canceled/Rescheduled

KOOL radio has canceled the KOOL Kruz scheduled for Saturday May 18 due to the forecast for snow (That is a four-letter word!). We are working to re-schedule the event…don’t want to break 20 years of history.

Jr. Dragster For Sale $12,500

Complete Jr. Dragster turn-key racing package. This package consists of a Motivational Tubing Pinnacle Chromolly chassis, J.R. Racing stage 8 motor, Jr. Racing shock wave O.D. clutch set up, Mychron race computer, and a custom painted body. This is a 7.9 second car that runs a very consistent 8.4 with a 165 lb. driver. Driving this car, my son won the track championship in the Junior Class in 2009 and 2010 at Alaska Raceway Park. Alternatively ballast can be added, gearing adjusted, and throttle stops installed, and the car can be de-tuned to run 13 seconds plus for beginners, and then removed as the driver gets older and can run faster times.

The car has a raised roll cage, and adjustable pedals that will allow for even a 5’10” driver to fit comfortably. We always use Royal Purple oil, and the motor has been sent back to J.R. Racing every year for refreshing. Due to a lot of rain outs in 2010 the car only has about 65 passes on the motor since the last overhaul.

The package includes a 2007, 18’ Interstate “V” nose trailer that acts as transport, pit support and storage for the car. The trailer features double axles, electric brakes, rear ramp and a side access door. Inside the trailer has been fully finished to support this car:

Checkerboard floor tiles
Built-in cabinets and workbench, lots of diamond plate accents
Fully wired with outlets and fluorescent lights
Stereo system
Door cabinet, helmet shelf, oil caddies, hose caddy etc.
Double high tool cabinet with a full set of Craftsman tools
Generator and air compressor
Car stands, car jack, 10 gallons of fuel.
Load distributing hitch (trailer pulls nicely behind a ½ ton pickup with this configuration)

We are out of the Jr. dragster business, so everything we have related to the car will be included, extra parts, belts, fluids, oil, tire cleaner, even the pit chairs are included. Kool Kruze

KOOL Kruze on Saturday May 18, This 20+ year event meets in the Sears parking lot in Anchoarge at 9 a.m. for the car show judging, then caravans to the track for free hot dogs and trimmings. The car show continues with the bonus of free runs down the track for registered cars. There will be giveaways and lots of fun.

Hunison Memorial Race Rescheduled

The Hunison Memorial Race has been re-scheduled for Sunday May 19th. Those drivers who signed to run last Sunday will run it this coming Sunday.

Racers, Sunday May 19^th is the first points race. You will need a points registration form completed and paid for before your points will be entered into the standings. You can download the form (here), complete it before you come to the track and save a hassle and slow lines on Sunday.

The obituary for Suzanne (Suzie) Janke is in the May 6 Anchorage Daily News. A celebration of the life and potluck will be held at Tanglewood Lakes Chalet (11701 Brayton Drive, Anchorage) on Saturday May 18 from 5-8p.m. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to the Alaska Humane Society or the Alaska Zoo.
